Not So Surprise

I needed to get the boys caught up on shots before school began. I made their appointment for early this morning so we could get it done quickly with minimal resistance. I did not tell the boys where we were going just that we needed to be somewhere at a certain time. Daniel told Christopher that "if mommy can't tell us where, then it's a surprise" and that "it's going to be something really good". Poor Christopher's heart just sank when we pulled into the clinic, he started crying  before we got out of the car. When we got in it turned out that Christopher needed 11 shots in 5 syringes, "ouch" and Daniel didn't need any. Christopher had to be held down to do the shots, thank goodness he has long legs it made it easier for the nurse and nurse aid to work. I think from now on Christopher will be a little sceptical when there will be a surprise of any kind.
